Joshua received a leadership award from his school and was also a recipient of the Province of Pangasinan Governor’s Leadership Excellence Award.
A very driven student, he served as Vice President for Communications of the Supreme Student Council of his school and as secretary of the Sangguniang Kabataan of his barangay.
Joshua was a representative of his school to multiple conventions for student leaders and was even sent to Indonesia under the Student Internship Exchange Program of the Southeast Asian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SEA-TVET) Consortium.
"I did not aim to become a leader. I just volunteered, rendered services for my campus, community, and family. I just obeyed what God told me to do. Then, I started to encourage others to do the same. Hindi ako tinuruan na maging isang leader lang, kundi maging isang servant leader (I was taught to be a servant leader) who shows [his followers what to do] just like what Jesus did. To students out there, Joshua says, “remember to use your purpose to motivate others, to use your season to influence your generation and also to inspire the next.” - Joshua
