S.Y. 2015-2016
BS Accounting Technology

In 2002, my parents separated and I was left with my grandmother. But I realized she was taking care of a lot of relatives despite having no work.

I was in grade two, nine years at that time, when I became a working student. I lived in many houses. That was when I experienced different hardships.

I eventually worked for a fast-food restaurant as a cashier. But my life was so messed up and I started to lose the courage to go to school. I forgot the real reason why I worked. In the midst of this, I met someone who informed me about the Real LIFE scholarship program.

I want to thank Real LIFE who became the instrument of God for people who have a dream like me. Honestly, I don’t know where I would be right now if I hadn’t become a scholar. I am one of those who are privileged to have a chance to reach my dreams.

Eugene was the first in their family to graduate from college. The hard work he did as a kid taught him to always give his best. We are so inspired hearing how he values excellence and integrity even when no one is around to commend him. His determination to have a better life is paying off, as he is now the finance officer of a power plant and is able to help with finances at home.

Watch him share his inspiring testimony in this video.
